It has been a colorful, day as Assahaba Islamic Centre gathered for its much-anticipated annual Cultural Day, held under the inspiring theme, “Many Cultures, One Heart.”
The vibrant event turned the institution into a melting pot of traditions, drawing enthusiastic crowds of students, staff, and community members. The highlight of the day was a joyous competitive showcase featuring four distinct houses; Red, Yellow, Green, and Blue. Each battling for supremacy across multiple cultural disciplines.
Tensions and excitement ran high as the houses went head-to-head in traditional games, cultural wear, quiz segments, and exhibition of indigenous cultural foods. From traditional authentic culinary delights, each house demonstrated preparation, capturing the unique essence of various customs.
Administrators noted that the annual event goes beyond mere competition, serving as an essential educational pillar designed to instil unity, respect for diversity, and a deep appreciation of cultural heritage among the younger generation. As the drums fell silent and the celebrations concluded, the day left an indelible mark of harmony proving that despite diverse backgrounds, the community shares one collective heart.
