National Resistance Movement (NRM) chairpersons Sironko District have formed a coordination team to boost party unity and grassroots mobilization.

The resolution was reached during a meeting convened by Sironko Town Council NRM Chairperson Abdallah Diffee at the Sironko Town Council Chambers on Tuesday.
Addressing the leaders, Diffee said the meeting was intended to foster unity and togetherness among NRM leaders, noting that many grassroots leaders are often forgotten after elections and only remembered during campaign periods.
The purpose of this meeting is to promote togetherness among leaders. After elections, many leaders are left out until another campaign season comes around. We need to remain united and actively involved in matters affecting our communities throughout our term of office, Diffee said.
He urged the government to involve local leaders during planning, noting they are often excluded from implementation yet expected to monitor projects.
The Sironko District Internal Security Officer (DISO), John Bosco Telo, pledged to involve NRM leaders in government programs, including the Parish Development Model (PDM), to improve monitoring and accountability.

Telo also urged leaders to boost community turnout for the ongoing UPDF recruitment, noting low Sironko participation.
I encourage leaders to spread information about UPDF recruitment opportunities because the turnout from Sironko is still low compared to other districts, Telo said.
On security, Telo urged joint leader-community efforts to fight cattle theft, which heavily impacts local households, including PDM livestock investors.
Later, leaders elected a district coordination committee to oversee NRM mobilization activities across the district.
Abdallah Diffee was elected Chairperson of all NRM chairpersons in Sironko District and will lead the newly formed coordination team.
Other elected leaders include:
– Boniface Mugamba (Bukyabi Sub-county) – Vice Chairperson
– Mubayi Nazalasi Job (Bukulo Sub-county) – Secretary General
– Godfrey Wandoba (Bukyabi Sub-county) – Finance Secretary
– Wolude Ali (Buwalasi Sub-county) – Committee Member
– Madoi Charles – Committee Member
– James Mungawu – Committee Member
– Wanzala Robert – Committee Member
– Mwambu Stewart – Committee Member
The new leaders pledged to boost NRM coordination, grassroots mobilization, and government program implementation in Sironko District.
We shall work together to strengthen NRM structures, promote unity among leaders, and support government programmes across Sironko District, said newly elected Chairperson of NRM Chairpersons in Sironko District, Abdallah Diffee, after his election at Sironko Town Council Chambers on Tuesday.
