Over 3,000 vulnerable beneficiaries on Eid al-Adha gathered at the Assahaba Islamic Centre in Wakiso District for Qurbani distribution.

A generous donation from the Direct Aid Society made the Qurbani distribution event possible, bringing smiles to thousands of families.

Speaking during the distribution exercise, the Director of Assahaba Islamic Centre, Mr. Fady Magdy, expressed his profound gratitude to the donors of Direct Aid Society for their unwavering humanitarian support. He  noted that such acts of kindness provide critical lifelines to local families during the festive season. He strongly encouraged the donors to maintain their spirit of giving.

The District Kadhi of Wakiso, Sheikh Erias Kigozi, graced the event as the Chief Guest. In his remarks, Sheikh Kigozi delivered a gracious Du’a for the wellness and prosperity of the donors.

The cleric also implored the thousands of congregants to remain steadfast and faithful to Allah, reminding them that the true essence of Eid al-Adha lies in the spirit of sharing and looking out for the less fortunate within their neighborhoods.

“Let us carry forward the lessons of obedience from Prophet Ibrahim by sharing these blessings generously among our families and neighbors who have nothing to put on the table today,” Sheikh Kigozi urged the gathering.

To successfully commemorate the sacrifice, organizers at the Assahaba Islamic Centre slaughtered and portioned a total of 42 cows to feed the 3,000 attendees.

In an effort to expand the reach of the intervention, the center’s leadership additionally dispatched nine live cows to various surrounding satellite communities, ensuring that the celebrations resonated far beyond the main venue.

The Director closed the event with a resounding message of appreciation targeted directly at their international and local funding partners:
