Direct Aid Society Uganda Delivers assorted drugs to Elegu Border Management Team.

In its health community outreach, Direct Aid Society–Uganda has delivered essential drugs and medical equipment to the Elegu Border Management Team.

The team has delivered assorted drugs and equipment which include; Jik, liquid soap, Deep Heat Spray, Ultimate water treatment, Cannulas, Examination gloves and water guard tabs among others.

In this outreach, Direct aid has partnered with the Uganda Ministry of Health to sensitize drug shop owners, and Village Health Teams (VHTs) about their roles and responsibilities during rapid response.

“I thank the country director Mr. Nourelhuda Ala’agab Abdalla for giving us this opportunity to come to Elegu boarder and participate in the prevention of cholera because it is a public health concern.” said Dr. Makumbi Hamza, the Healthcare and Relief Officer Direct Aid Uganda. The support is intended to enhance preparedness and prevent the further spread of acute, infectious, bacterial diseases among the communities.

Mr. Okello Milton Stephen, the Health Officer in Charge at Elegu Border, expressed his appreciation to Direct Aid Society for the support. He noted that the support significantly contributed to strengthening the health response at the border.

Direct Aid Society’s community outreach reflects its continued commitment to supporting vulnerable communities and strengthening health systems.
